In center of the ria of Arousa, region of The Salnés, near the N-550, in the province of Pontevedra; is the Island of Arousa, connected to the continent by a bridge of two thousand meters length.

The Island has approximately seven square kilometers of surface, with 36 km of coast. It belongs to the region of the Salnés. The urbanizable surface of this place is not near the two square kilometers so the visitor can enjoy large zones of forest, marshs and lagoons, standing out the “Natural Park of Carreirón”, declared natural reserve by the Ramsar project and a special zone of protection for birds by the directive for bird´s protection of the EEC.
